My physical creation of glass process greatly aligns with my thinking process.
Hot glass is fluid with possibility, initially able to take on any shape, but once the moment passes, it becomes cold and static, achieving immortality.
The collaboration of three elements: my spiritual imagination, physical skill and knowledge of working with glass, and glass itself, create my artwork. When uncertain ideas and liquid glass meet each other, the picture floating inside me takes on its distinct form and the glass captures this moment for all of eternity.
Similarly, my initial seed of inspiration is obscure, but through exploration, it becomes a clear picture which remains in my heart forever. I find a small fragment of beauty in nature, space, and organisms. While I ponder this concept, a misty figure appears in my mind, and captures me. The dedication to and execution of this ambiguous image through the production process of hot glass brings me a lucid answer, the embodiment of beauty.
My artwork cannot come to fruition without the process and exploration of hot glass. And, in tandem the process of hot work means nothing to me without the small germ of beauty, which ensnares me.
